The impact of wearing diapers on toddlers' walking ability

In order to better understand the behavioral characteristics of infants and young children, and thereby develop products that truly meet their needs for healthy growth, Hua has been committed to conducting comprehensive and multi-angle research. One of these studies focuses on walking, which is considered an important indicator of a child's healthy development and growth, and has been actively pursued since 2011. In 2020, Hua utilized motion capture technology to reveal the intrinsic mechanism of a child's walking ability development, and also discovered that wearing diapers can affect the spacing and swaying of the legs during walking. This conclusion was publicly announced in October 2020.

On this basis, the Hygiene Products Research Institute and the Personal Care Research Institute of Japan Flower Corporation further utilized motion capture technology to observe the movements of both legs from the perspective of skeletal changes, and conducted a verification study on the specific impact of wearing diapers on toddlers' walking. The study analyzed the main factors affecting toddlers' walking while wearing diapers and clarified that the pressure caused by diapers on the inner thighs can affect the opening of the hip joint. There is a correlation between the opening of the hip joint and the difficulty of walking.
